Macy and Michael

November 2, 2025

Some stories are shaped in the quiet moments of childhood—books read to us by our parents as we snuggle on their laps or drift to sleep under the soft glow of a nightlight. Others are crafted from the imagination, like a fairytale where love mirrors the timeless tale of Cinderella, waiting for her prince to sweep her off her feet. As we grow older, no matter the stage of life, we dream of our future—dancing under the stars, surrounded by friends, to the soft hum of country songs that speak of love lost and love found.

Our story, however, feels like the perfect blend of all these moments—a collision of two worlds, each shaped by different paths and backgrounds, coming together in a space where opportunity, desire, and true friendship can flourish. From that collision, something magical was born—a love that has grown, blossomed, and led us here, to this very moment.

As we stand on the edge of forever, surrounded by our closest family and friends, it truly feels like a fairytale. A miracle, really. So, let’s raise a glass, toast to love, and celebrate the journey ahead. And don’t forget your dancing shoes!

- Macy & Michael

The Couple

Macy & Michael

Let’s skip to the good part!
What started as a simple weekend getaway to celebrate our birthdays quickly turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives! A quick trip to Savannah, perfectly timed to the weekend we’d been dreaming of, was exactly what “Dr. Love” (aka Michael) ordered. Little did Macy know, Michael had secretly teamed up with The Olde Pink House and K Horton Photography to plan an epic proposal.

Macy was buzzing with excitement, thinking this might be the weekend her Pinterest dreams would come to life. But Michael kept it cool, assuring her it was just a regular getaway. Fast forward to Friday, January 17th – after strolling through a park, we arrived at The Olde Pink House for lunch. Michael started reminiscing about their rollercoaster journey together, and when they reached the front door, he paused to “finish the conversation.” And just like that, he dropped to one knee. Macy’s face lit up like a firework as she said “YES!” and the rest is history. The future has officially begun!

The Ribault Club

Named to commemorate French explorer Jean Ribault, who first claimed Fort George Island in 1562, The Ribault Club is situated in Fort George Island Cultural State Park, a site boasting 5,000 years of civilization in North Florida.
The Ribault Club history begins in 1928. Built atop the shell middens left by native Indians hundreds of years ago, it offered a winter get-a-way for affluent families. The roaring 20’s spirit on this tree-covered estate welcomed members from Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Pittsburg to vacation, dine and dance, earning the knick-name “Millionaire’s Club.” It was so popular that by 1930, an additional lodge was added to accommodate its 350 regular guests.

The property included a Donald Ross-designed golf course, lawn bowling, clay tennis courts, hunting, fishing, yachting (and socializing, of course), often welcoming foreign dignitaries, captains of industry and members of society.
The Depression of 1929 and World War II dramatically impacted the club’s success. In the 1940’s it became a public-private club. In the 1980’s The Ribault Club was purchased with the hope of turning it into a resort community, similar to Amelia Island Plantation. When that didn’t come to fruition, the state of Florida purchased The Ribault Club as part of the Talbot Island Park System, with the city of Jacksonville taking over management of the golf course. When profitability proved difficult, the golf course and the club were both closed and remained abandoned for a time.

A group of residents stepped in to preserve the property and its history, working with the Florida State Park Service, the National Park Service and the City of Jacksonville. Together, with community support, funding was secured for a $4 million restoration. The Ribault Club reopened to its former grandeur in 2003.
